(M) Ceanothus Blue Mound 2L
Also known as ‘Californian Lilac’, this Ceanothus is a dense, mound-forming evergreen shrub. It has glossy, dark green leaves with attractive wavy edges and has clusters of small, bright blue flowers twice each year – in spring/summer and late summer/autumn. It is relatively slow growing, achieving its maximum height/spread of up to 1.5 metres in 5 to 10 years, if given the space to do so. It is drought resistant and will prefer a sheltered position in full sun, either south or west facing. It sits well in cottage or informal style gardens, mediterranean gardens, courtyard gardens or in flower beds or borders along a wall. It is hardy, down to about minus 10 degrees, in the UK. Give a light prune for shape after flowering. Ceanothus ‘Blue Mound’ will grow in almost any soil but won’t thrive in particularly shallow, chalky conditions. Sold in as an established 2 litre specimen, please plant as soon as possible after purchase.
