Perlite is a volcanic rock transformed into lightweight, micro-porous granules through high-temperature heating. When mixed with compost, it enhances water and nutrient retention whilst stimulating robust root development. Use alone for seed germination or blend with soil during planting to keep moisture and nutrients accessible to roots. Suitable for seed starting, rooted cuttings, potting-on, and planting out. Dampen before use to minimise dust—add approximately one litre of water per bag and allow to soak. This versatile compost additive creates an optimal growing environment by improving aeration and nutrient availability throughout the root zone.
