The Cottage Garden
We were feeling in the pink when we designed this garden! If you like your gardens with a side order of romance, we invite you to sit and drink in our Cottage Garden.
Against the backdrop of our rose-pink workshop, the floral planting in this garden echoes that colour palette, from the palest of pinks to the deepest of purples. The more formal bed on the left, surrounding the beautifully clipped standard bay tree, provides us with an opportunity to mix perennial planting with seasonal colour. The ‘Winter Rose’ chippings complement the foliage and provides a practical surface to move around on.
Across the simple brick path, our traditional bench seat and coffee table are sheltered by a show-stopping rusted iron-effect gazebo. The arched metal frame provides excellent support to climbing plants but we almost think it’s too beautiful to grow anything over it, it is such a statement piece as it is.
The planting here contains strong elements of what we might consider traditional English planting: climbing roses and lavender provide the most delicious of scents at certain times of the year.
So open our picket gate and step into a timeless garden that you could recreate at home.
